FLOODING OF RIVERS
OFOTIKI DISTRICT DAMAGE BRIDGE 8 FEET UNDER WATER [by telegraph—own correspondent] OPOTIKI, Friday Heavy rains have fallen on the Opotiki coast during the last few days, flooding all rivers. The coast road is blocked by heavy slips and washouts. The flooding of the Raukokore Riivcr has seriously interfered with the construction of the low-level bridge. The wati!r rose eight feet above the level of the bridge, washing away portions of the plant and material. The contractor is a heavy loser. c ,
