LANDING OF AIRCRAFT
FACILITIES AT TAURANGA VISIT OF SOUTHERN CROSS [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] / TAURANGA, Monday An effort to improve the landing ground for aircraft at Tauranga is to be made by the Aero Club. At a meeting of the executive it was decided to have the power lines on the Waikareao Lstuai'y moved if possible. A deputation from the club will wait on the Borough Council at its next meeting to forward the object. lii connection with the forthcoming visit of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in the Southern Cross to Tauranga, the club has been asked to book accommodation for ii party of 14 as soon as the aeroplane au'ives in New Zealand. This matte'r was left in the hands of the secretary to arrange. Sir Charles'has expressed his wish to meet members of the Aero Club during his visit, and a small function, strictly limited to club members, will be arranged for this purpose. By Sir Charles' ..special request, no other social entertainment will be tendered to him.
