SWIMMING CONTESTS HELD TWO BROTHERS' SUCCESS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] ROTORUA, Wednesday The chief attraction in connection with the Rotorua Christmas and New Year carnival was a swimming carnival held under the auspices of the Rotorua Amateur Swimming Club it the new Blue Baths last evening. There was a large attendance of visitors and residents, over 3500 being present. The entries exceeded 40CT, and competitors from Auckland, Hamilton and Gisborne and ether places took part. The weather was fine and the fixture proved highly successful. The brothers W. and K. Whareaitu, of Whakarewarewa, put up an exceptionally fine performance, being placed in ten finals. The juvenile P«rt of tho programme attracted much interest, the children giving ft very creditable performance. Following were the principal results:— , G6 1-3 Yards Club Championship.— VV.
