INTOXICATED IN CAR

RELIEF WORKER FINED . A fine of ;£5 and costs was imposed yesterday in the Onehunga Police Court on a relief worker, Robert F. Nesbit, married, for being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car. Messrs. It. J. Davies and J. Laking, J.P.'s, presided. In evidence, E. Smith, a motprman, said that Nesbit',s car collided with the front step of his tramcar, near the cornor of Queen and Princes Streets, Onehunga, last Friday. Both vehicles wore travelling toward the city. Constable A. Rathie said that Nesbit was intoxicated when arrested af,tor tho accident. Accused explained the accident by saying he did not notice the tramcar as the side screons were down.

Nesbit pleaded not guilty, but lie had nothing to say and he did not call any evidence. He was allowed a week in which to pay the fine.
