"Wednesday The yacht Mahaki, one of the entrants in the ocean yacht race from Auckland to Tauvanga, which met with a mishap and retired from the contest, arrived at Tauranga this, morning. The Mahaki carried away her.'bowsprit off Orakei. Mr. It. Reston's steam yacht Matarere, which left Auckland on Saturday, has arrived hero after calling at Whitianga and Slipper Island. It is intended to visit Mayor Island to-morrow, and later Mr. Zane Grey's camp at Mercury Bay, .Mercury Island and Tryphena, before returning to Auckland.
