FARMERS' STRIKE

PROPOSAL IN ALBERTA

DEPRESSED WHEAT PRICES

(Received November 24, 5.5 p.m.) CALGARY, Nov. £3

A proposal for a general strike of Western Canada's wheatgrowers as a protest against the present depressed prices and general economic conditions, is to be placed before the Alberta wheat pool at its annual, convention this week.

The proposal embraces a cessation of seeding next spring by all farmers tilling the prairies—an area of 25,000,000 acres.
