Tlio English cricketers were given an
enthusiastic reception on their arrival in Sydney to-day. There was a tremendous crush at the city station, and the players had great difficulty in threading their way through the crowd. The Nawab of Pataudi declined to give any reason for his intention not to accompany the team to New Zealand at'tho end of the Australian tour.
Tho visitors to-morrow will commence a four-days' match (tho sixth of their lour) against tho following New South Wales team: —Kippax, Wcndel Bill, Brndmaii, Cummins, Fingleton, Ilird, Howell, McCabe, Oldfield, O'Reilly and Theak, with Brown as 12th man.
