YESTERDAY'S WEATHER
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH
Auckland.—A series of almost continuous showers fell yesterday morning until mid-day, when the weather cleared, sunshine being experienced during the afternoon. The wind in the morning was northerly, veering to the south-west in the afternoon. The barometer, which stood at 30.10 in. at midnight on Wednesday, fell slightly during the morning, but steadied later at 30.00 in.
Wellington.—A bright sunny day was experienced yesterday, with the wind from the north.
Christchurch.—A brilliant day was marred by a high north-west wind. The maximum temperature was 75 degrees. The barometer recorded 29.53 in. at 5 p.m. and had a tendency to rise. Dunedin.—The weather yesterday was variable. Bright sunshine prevailed in the early part of the morning and was followed by heavy rain which fell between mid-day and 2 p.m. The sky then cleared and bright sunshine was experienced. The barometer had a rising tendency registered 29.80 in« early in the evening.
