USE OF GARDEN HOSES

CITY PATROL PLANNED

Very thorough measures against improper use of garden hoses this summer are to be taken by tho city waterworks department. The City Council last evening approved plans for sending out parties, each consisting of an inspector and another man, to traverse the city in the evenings and locate hoses left running unattended. The Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, said he wished to point out that tho ordinary hose licence was for hoses held in the hand. A sprinkler licence could bo obtained by paying double the amount, or a metered supply could be given at Is a thousand gallons, plus meter rent. Tho council had plenty of water, but householders should be prepared to pay according to the use made of the supply.
