OPERATIONS AT WAIHI
585 IOZ. OF GOLD IN 22 DAYS

The following information has been cabled to the London office of '♦he Waihi Gold Mining Company, Limited:— For the period ended November 12, comprising 21£ crushing days, 38,043 tons of ore were crushed for a result, of 5851 fine ounces of gold and 30.763' fine ounces of silvpr. This includes 2174 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 813 fine ounces of gold and 6043 fine ounces of silver. No. 3 Level.—Martha lode: .At 140 ft. west the full width of the lode is 24ft.; average assay value 5s 9d a ton. The crosscut is being continued.
No. 5 Level.—No. 2 reef: Driving west the next 32ft. assays 40s a ton. The reef is about sft. wide.
No. 11 Level.—Empire lode, north section : Driving east at 68ft the lode is disturbed, and then the next 19ft. is good sulphide ore about. 6ft. wide. Royal lode: Investigation here is being continued. No. 11 Level, 38ft. Sub-level.—North section, Empire lode: In the crosscut south at 51 ft. down the winze the first. 32ft. assays lis a ton and the next 16ft. 29s 9d a ton.
No. 12 Level.—Commencing at 80ft. in Cow north crosscut we have driven to the west 47ft-, the assay value being 47s a ton. The width of the reef varies from 2ft. to a width greater than the drive.
