ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY

WAIHI BEACH AREA

AVAILABLE ON DECEMBER 3

[BY TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] WAIHI, Thursday

Advice that the electricity supply would be officially switched on in the Waihi Beach area on the evening of December 3 was received by the Waihi Borough Council last evening from the Thames Valley Power Board. Remarkably quick work has been accomplished by the board in the erection of the power line. Already many seaside cottages liaye been wired in readiness for the current. The central portion of the beach will be illuminated by flood lights and strings of coloured lights immediately following the switching-on ceremony. The council appointed a committee to finalise arrangements.
