CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH

Auckland.—There was a continuation of ideal summer conditions yesterday, hut a heavy shower was experienced in the western suburbs in the afternoon. Tha barometer was steady at 30.15 in. during the afternoon and it rose to 30.20 in. last night.

Wellington.—The weather was beautifully fine yesterday until late afternoon, when the sky clouded over and misty conditions ruled. The wind was from the north.

Christchurch.—Tho weather was fine yesterday, with more cloud than sunshine and a strong breeze from the north-east. The maximum temperature was 63 degrees. The barometer recorded 30.01 in. at 5 p.in. and was falling.

Dunedin.—The weather yesterday vas fine but cloudy and a light breeze froni the north-east was blowing. The barometer showed a falling tendency last evea» ing and' registered 30.'10 in. -
