LATECOMERS AT THE PLAY

Sir, —Wo read in a recent issue of your journal that the Little Theatre Society intends adopting an autocratic attitude toward tlie unfortunate "latecomer" to tlio forthcoming production, " Rope." lias it occurred to the producer that some unavoidable circumstances might be responsible for the late arrival of their patrons. A large, young family and an erratic transport system have frequently been responsible for my late arrival at an entertainment, when ] have set out with the intention of arriving in ample time for the overture. A gripping opening scene is offered as an excuse for this action, luit surely this is all the mora reason why the management should endeavour to see that every patron misses nothing of the best points of the play. A Mother.
