Newspapers emphasise that not since the fateful days of July, 1914, has the world faced a week of such momentous gravity in international affairs.
Mr. Hoover is meeting Mr. Roosevelt at Washington to discuss the war debt problem, while the League of Nations is confronted with the necessity for a decision on tiie Lytton report, on which not only tho peace of the Far East depends, but tho future of the League, as the possibility of Japan's withdrawal cannot be ignored. There is also the internal political crisis in Germany.
The Third Round-Table Conference on India and problems of taxation and unemployment the British Parliament must face, only they are less momentous.
