QUERY CLUB

A meeting of the Query Club was held in the Girls' Diocesan Association rooms yesterday afternoon, when Mrs. G. A. Eddowes presided over a good attendance of members. As a result of the bridge afternoons held at the homes of the members a goodly sum has been raised for the purpose of providing Christmas cheer for the sick poor, and arrangements in connection with the distribution of the goods were completed. It was decided to assist with the entertainment of the Australian Boys' Band during their visit to the city next month. Various matters affecting the social work of the club were discussed by the meeting. Miss J. Tapper, who has been an active member of the club since its foundation was elected a life-member. Tea was served at the conclusion of the meeting, the hostesses being Mrs. Gibbs, Mrs. Turner, Miss M Rendell, Miss V. Clarke. Those present were:—Mrs. G. A. Eddowes, Mrs. C.
