A WEEK-END CAMP

TRAINEES FROM HAMILTON

HAMILTON, Monday

A successful camp, attended by 20 trainees of the machine-gun company of the First Battalion, Waikato Regiment, was held at Tauwhare on Saturday and Sunday.

A night shoot over a range of 800 yards was held on Saturday evening, while direct and indirect firing practice on ranges of 1000 and 1900 yards were carried out yesterday. The camp was in charge of Lieutenant H. Searle. Lieutenant-Colonel R. D. McFarland, officer commanding the Waikato Regiment, paid a visit of inspection yesterday.
