THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL

BRIEF AUCKLAND VISIT

ARRIVAL THIS MORNING

The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, is expected to arrive in Auckland from Wellington morning to preside at the annual communication of the Grand Lodgs of the Freemasons of New Zealand, which will open to-morrow. At a ceremony in the Town Hall to-morrow evening His Excellency will be installed as Grand Master for a third term of office. Lord Bledisloe will stay at the Northern Club, and is expected to leave on his return to Wellington on Thursday evening. It is four months since His Excellency ■was last in Auckland. In July he paid a short visit, attending the Winter Show and other public gatherings, then returning direct to Wellington. At the beginning of August he visited Christchurch, and shortly after his return to Wellington made a brief unofficial visit to Rotorua, also inspecting the hydro-electrical works at Arapuni. His Excellency then remained in Wellington until last month, when he visited Nelson, this month paying visits to Palmerston Norths Levin and Otaki in turn.
