(Received' November 20, 5£ p.m.) CANBERRA, Nov. 20 The feeling is growing among Federal politicians that there should bo a public inquiry into the Granites goldfield situation.

Professor Madigan'e preliminary report has convinced Ministers and members on all sides of the House that undue optimism lias been shown by certain interests in descriptions of the field. Another report by Messrs. Clark and Gibson, mining engineers, declares that the western section of the field is practically valueless. The latest report from G. Ramsay, who is working in the eastern section, .is that the leases are worthless.
