FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE

UNION ATTITUDE UNCHANGED

ALLIANCE POLICY CONDEMNED

A decision to maintain their present attitude in the freezing works dispute was made by members of the Auckland Butchers and Slaughtermen's Union at a meeting held in the Trades Hall yesterday morning. There was a large attendance, the president, Mr. H. Coulton, presiding. The situation was fully discussed, while reports were also received from other centres.

The policy of the Alliance of Labour toward the dispute was considered at % meeting on Friday evening attended by over 300 men. The following resolution was carried:—

"That this meeting, after considering the report of the alliance on the freezing workers' dispute, is of the opinion that the attitude of the alliance to the dispute is fully in keeping with its traditional policy of masterly inactivity, and that' the report is merely an attempt to justify the alliance's evasion of its responsibilities to the Freezing .Workers* Federation."
