A GUIDE LUNCHEON

An enjoyable luncheon party was held at tlio Lyceum Club on Saturday wlien the visiting commissioners of the New Zealand Girl Guide Association, who have been attending the conference of the Dominion Council in Auckland were the guests of the Dominion Commissioner, Mrs. W. R. Wilson. Owing to Mrs. Wilson's absence through illness, however, Miss Herrick, of Hawke's Bay, deputy chief commissioner, acted as hostess in her stead. The tables were most attractively decorated with blue and goid flowers, the colours of the Girl Guide Association. There were 35 guests present. At the conclusion of the luncheon the conference continued and was ended late in the afternoon. In the evening the visitors attended the presentation of " The Barretts of Wimpolo Street " at His Majesty's Theatre as the guests of the Dominion executive.
