THE ALSATIAN HOUND

Sir, —I would liko to call attention to tho rapid increaso in number of these animals which, in many cases, constitute a grave menace to public safety. Under proper control these dogs can be trained to perform many useful acts, but when allowed to run loose they are liable to attack anyone without provocation—and it is usually the timid and innocent person who is the victim. I know I will raise a storm of protest from the owners of these anynals who feel very brav* and secure with their own dog, but ask them to call on the owner of a strange Alsatian and they would probably show the greatest fear—at least they would know what other people feel like when facing theso formidable beasts.
