AUCKLAND AMATEUR CLUB

The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club wan favoured with fine weather when it held its third meeting at the Lynndale sports ground on Saturday. Competition was exceptionally keen, as it. was an invitation day to all clubs. The dusty nature of the track made Ihe cornera very elciddy. Only ono accident barred the clear run of events, that to IT. Webb in the match race. .Results are as follows; One Mile.—First heat: Hogan, 1; Yates. 2; Harrison, 3. Time. 2m 23 l-ss. Second heat: Crocker. 1; Gooder, 2; Barry, 3. Time, 2m 255. Third beat: Craig, 1: A. J. Johnson, 2; Keith, 3. Time, 2m 23 4-ss. Final: Gooder, 1; Ilogan, 2; Crocker, 3. Time, 2m 21 2-ss.

Bacon, 1; Craig, 2; Maxted, 3. Tme, lm 17s. In this race H. Webb fell, so Craig replaced him, and the heat was run again.

WHAKATANE CLUB

The usual evening race meeting was held by the Whakatane Cycle Club lust night in tho Whakatane Domain, when, in addition to tho usual men's races, a ladies' race was run, nnd it provided much interest and amusement. The results were:— Mile Handicap.—J. Whitten, scr, 1; E. Ryan, 220 yds, and W. Brennan, 220 yds, dead-heut, 2. Three Miles Handicap.—S. Doncaster, 26Jyds, 1; G. Green, 260 yds, 2; J. Whitten, scr, 3.
