MONEY FOR BUTTER-FAT

SUPPLIES IN OCTOBER

CAMBRIDGE COMPANY'S PAY-OUT

CAMBRIDGE, Saturday

The Cambridge Dairy Company, Limited, has fixed its advance payments for butter-fat supplied during October at 9J,d per lb. for butter and lOd for cheese. The total advanco for the month will bo £23,143, bringing the season's total up to £56,050.

Over the same period last year the pay-out was lid for butter and Is for cheese, the pay-out being £25,682 and the season's total £57,994.

The Hikurangi Dairy Company, Ltd., to-<lay distributed the sum of £15,767 for butter-fat received for the month of October, being an advance at the rate of 9jd per lb for superfine. This amount also includes si' deferred payment of per lb on butter-fat supplied during the months of April and May. The amount to lie distributed shows an increase of U1797 as compared with the corresponding moilll i of last year. The output for the month amounted to 226 tons compared with 165 tons in October last year, an increase of 60 tons, or 36 per cent. The output for the season to date shows an increase of 124 tons or 34.5 per cent.

Tho payout for October last year was lid per lb. butter-fat for finest. There is a large increase in the supply this season. Although advances have been at a lower rate than last, season, tho total pay-out to dale is £10.259, compared with £BB9I for tho corresponding period last year. This season shows an increase in production of 25 per cent over tho same period in 1931.
