PRESENTATIONS
A farewell social was given at Pukekohe to Mr. A. Potter, prior to his departure this week to take up the position of manager of the Ngaruawahia branch of the Farmers' Trading Company, Ltd. Mr. Potter has been manager of the company's produco department at Pukekohe for the past 12 years. The Mayor of Pukekohe, Mr. J. Routly, presided over a large and representative gathering, including prominent farmers and business men of the district. On behalf of the gathering, Mr. Routly presented Mr. Potter with a mantelpiece clock. The presentation of a leather travelling bag was made to Mr. C. R* Cooke upon his leaving the Thames Star, with which he has been associated for the past 12 years, 10 of which as editor-manager. Mr. F. McCullough, in making the presentation on behalf of the staff, referred to the manner in which Mr. Cooko had furthered the interests of the paper/ Members of the staff spoke with pleasure of their long association with Mr, Gooke as manager, and expressed regret at his departure.
