ENGINEER FOUND GUILTY
RECOMMENDATION TO MERCY [by telegraph—press association] WELLINGTON, Tuesday The jury in the Supreme Court to-day found Walter Anderson Clifton, aged 49. engineer, guilty of indecent assault on two little girls at Miramar on June 3. Tho jury made a recommendation to leniency. The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, asked the foreman of the jury to state the grounds for the recommendation and a written statement was handed up. Ilis Honor ordered a remand until Friday.
