AUCKLAND BANKRUPTCIES
STATISTICS FOR OCTOBER DECREASE IN TEN MONTHS Nine bankruptcies, one of them involving two persons trading together, were filed in the Auckland district last month, compared with 12 in October, 1931, and 12 in September this year. The total for the first 10 months of this year is 97, against 108 for the corresponding period in 1931 and 119 in 1929. Following are the returns for the first 10 months of the present year, with those of the three previous years given as a comparison:—
A variety of occupations was represented by the bankrupts who filed last month. Included in the total were two farmers, a labourer, a linotype operator, a hotelkeeper, a storekeeper, a manufacturing agent, who filed with his wife, and two other women, one a married woman and tho other a widow.
