AUCKLAND CLUB'S CARNIVAL Fine but bitterly cold weather, with a strong wind, prevailed on Saturday afternoon. when the Auckland Coursing Club conducted its seventh carnival of the season at the Otahuhu Enclosure, Mangero Crossing. Fine coursing was witnessed by n good attendance and tho carnival passed off most successfully. Mr. M. Freney again capably officiated as judge, whilv tho slipper, Mr. R. Polkinghorne, delivered the greyhounds in fine style. The event contested was the Otahuhu All-Aged Stakes, and was arranged as u lead up to tho McGahan Cup and the All-Aged Slakes to be decided on "Wednesday and Saturday next. Rotbwell, a smart dog owned by tho East Tamaki sportsman Mr. A. Baird defeated Pythian in the deciding course, after an undecided course (points even) and a no-course (the hare running.to cover without being turned). In the first lies Glimpso injured a foot somewhat badly and she will not course again.
