HOME-MADE COLD CREAM
One should always keep a jar of this cream handy, especially in the cold weather. Take jib. unsalted lard and put it in a basin, pour boiling water on it,
and stir till it melts. Leave till cold, then pour the water off. Repeat this process three times. Then heat one tablespoonful of powdered oatmeal into the lard, add a few drops of a favourite perfume, and the cream is ready for use.
