FALL DURING HUNT

LADY RIDER INJURED

OTHER MINOR MISHAPS OCCUR There were several falls during the meet held by members of the Pakuranga Hunt Club at Howick yesterday afternoon, one rider, Miss Evelyn Martin, of Wiri, receiving an injury to a collarbone. After receiving medical attention she returned home. Miss Martin, who was riding Vixen, was unseated when the horse struck a taut wire in a gorse hedge it was jumping. The hilly nature of the country traversed and the somewhat heavy going owing to the wet weather caused a number of other falls* but none of them wai> serious. In spite of the rain showers, however, excellent sport was enjoyed. Practically continuous hunting led the rider? over a wide variety of country, and during one run the pace was so brisk that only the huntsman and the whip were present at the kill.
