NATIVE BIRD LIFE

INTEREST IN FILMS Considerable interest was shown in a series of moving pictures dealing with New Zealand native bird life, screened under the auspices of the .Auckland Zoological Society in the Remuera Library ball on Wednesday. There was an attendance of about 400 people. The president, Mr. F. 15. McKenzie, presided. The films included those which were exhibited before the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, who is patron of the society, last February. His Excellency commented favourably on the work of filming native bird life. The pictures were secured while representatives of the society were visiting Little Barrier Island to obtain bellhinls for liberation in the Wuitakero Ranges.

Mr. J. B. I'atorson, vice-president of the society, said the organisation was propared to make the films available for exhibition to school children. He extended an invitation to masters from the Remuera and Meadowbank schools to make arrangements for the films to bo shown.
