JOURNEY BY CANOE
FORMER AUCKLANDER LONDON. Aug. 9 Mr. C. Richards, a former Auckland journalist, intends to buy a canoe at Frankfort-on-Main and proceed down the Rhino to the Black Forest, thence to the Danube and the Black Sea. Ho may joiij nn oil steamer and return to England via Greece. Mr. Ceredig Richards, a son of the Rev. M. Richards, of St. George's Presbyterian Manse, Takapuna, was engaged in journalism in Auckland and Rotorua a few years ago. In 1931 ho travelled to the Solomon and New Hebrides Islands on the Melanesian Mission steamer Southern Cross for tho purpose of writing articles. Upon returning to Auckland he expressed his intention of making tours in Europe.
