SOVIET'S UNPAID DEBT.
OFFER NOT ADEQUATE.
OPPORTUNITY TO INCREASE.

The Foreign Secretary, Sir John Simon, was asked in the House of Commons today what steps the Government had decided to take to secure payment from tho Soviet Government of the Tepudiated arbitral award of September, 1930, amounting approximately to £13,(XX),000 in favour of Lena Goldfields, Limited.
In reply the Minister said that failing a more equitable offer than tho £1300,000 the Soviet had offered the British Government would again be obliged to claim full payment of tho arbitral award and to take such other action as it deemed lit. 1
.t The Soviet Government was being given a reasonable opportunity to increase its offer by £1,000,000.
