POLICE RAID IN CITY.

TWO CHINESE ARRESTED.

ALLEGED GAMING HOUSE. A laundry at 18, Pitt Street, alleged to have been used for pakapoo purposes, •was raided last evening by a police party consisting of Detectives Nalder, Stevenson and Wilson and Constable Williams. The detectives -walked through the shop portion of the premises into a back room, where they found two Chines® seated in front of a fire. The Chinese, the only occupants of the premises, were arrested and two boxes of playing material were confiscated.

Subsequently, Yip Hoon, aged 30, and Ah Wong, aged 28, appeared before r - J. Donald, J.P., at the city police station, and were charged with using premises as a common gaming house. They were remanded to appear in the Police Court this morning, bail at £IOO being allowed in each case. ■
