STRONG COMPETITION RULES. LONDON, July 11. At tho London wool sales to-day 9276 bales were offered, including 2547 from New Zealand, and about 6800 were sold. There was strong competition, especially by the home trade, with fair Continental support. Prices generally were 10 per cent, above the June closing rates. Fine Merinos were 15 per cent. up. New Zealand clips sold as follows: Greasy halfbred, " Glenfield," top price, ll£d, average, lid; scoured combing, " Curraghmore," 17d arid 16^d. BRADFORD TOPS. On the Bradford tops market there is more business and prices are firm. DAIRY PRODUCE PRICES. BUTTER QUOTED AT 103s. LONDON MARKET FIRM. EGG PRICES AGAIN LOWER. A further fall of Id a dozen in the prices of eggs occurred at the Auckland City Markets yesterday. First grade, both hen and duck, realised only Is Better values obtained for several lines of fruit, but in the field produce section rates showed an appreciable downward trend. There was a keener inquiry than usual for lemons and prices firmed at 4s to 6s 6d a case. Hothouse tomatoes, at 20s to 25s a case for first quality, and Poorman oranges, also advanced slightly. Apples were more keenly sought at late rates, but the demand for pears was p00r,.Lower rates ruled for cabbages, Is to 3s a sack, cauliflowers, 2s to 6s a sack, swedes and pumpkins. Other fluctuations were only minor ones. Poultry and farmers' butter were practically unchanged. Yesterday's prices were:— FBUIT.
