MAN FALLS DOWN SHAFT. DISTANCE OF 75 FEET. Walking to Boulder, Western Australia, about 9 p.m. on March 12, Mr. William .Tones, a middle-aged man, who was visiting Kalgoorlie, missed tho track and fell down an uncovered mine shaft, 75ft. deep. Mr. .Jones remained in tho shaft all night and until midday the next day, when lie, wns rescued by members of the South Kalgooriio Firo Brigade, who heard his cries. When hauled to 1 lie surface, ho was found to bo suffering only fiom shock and a fow abrasions.
