THE CHIEF SCOUT.
QUESTION OF SUCCESSOR. SPECULATION IN ENGLAND. LONDON, March Although General Raden-Powi'll, who is 75, doos not, intend to resign from the Scout, movement, headquarters are con sidenng the question of his successor. Prominent commissioners fold a representative of the Referee that, Sir BadenPowell should clearly .indicate his sue. cessor, but others advocate that, the position should be, filled by a member of the Royal Family with sufficient time and sympathy for the. movement. Several of the, commissioners favour an hereditary appointment, devolving on Sir Baden-Powell's son, Peter, aged 10. The majority of the commissioners, however, consider that a successor probably will be, chosen from Lord Hampton, author of "Scouting Sketches," Sir Alfred Pickford, Commissioner of the Roy Scouts' Association, or Mr. Hubert Martin, International Commissioner of the Scouts' Association.
