OBITUARY.

MR. EVAN BARTLETT. The dentil occurred recently at 12, Eklon Road, Balmoral, of Mr. Evan Bartlett, at the age of 58. He was a wellknown resident of Auckland for many years. Born in South Wales in 1873, he was educated at Rugby Lower School, and gained a practical knowledge of fanning in Northamptonshire. Before coining to New Zealand in 1907, he held the position of tramway inspector in Leicester. Beginning with the Auckland Electric Tramway Company as a spare conductor, lie became an inspector, which position lie held until 1916, when he decided to return to farming. For a period of four years he and his family were actively engaged in farming at Hopai, llauraki Plains, but on the termination of the war ho decided to sell out, and revisited England. On returning to New Zealand he again joined the Transport Board's service, lie is survived by his wife, son ami daughter. MRS. A. BURCH. [from our own connEsroNDExx ] WHANGAREI. Tuesday. The death occurred yesterday morning at Whangarei of Mrs. Ada Burch, aged 54 years. She was a daughter of the flate' Mr. and Mrs. George Cliff, pioneer settlers in the Paparoa district. Tliirtytwo years ago she married Mr. John Ifenrv Burch, and they took up residence i„ the. Holorua district. On hor liusi hand's death in 1920, Mrs. Burch came to • Whangarei. There are four children, "Mrs. Irwin Wilson, Whangarei, Mrs. Albert, J Fill, Raratonga, Miss Kathleen Bn.rch, Whangarei, and Mr. William Hunch, To Aroha.
