NEW JUNIOR DIVISION.

ELECTION OF FIRST BOARD.

The Auckland Junior Chamber nf Commerce, a new division of the Chamber of Commerce, was formally constituted at a meeting last evening, when d -aft bylaws were adopted and tho first, officers elected. Mr. L. A. Eady presided. The by-laws limited membership to men between 18 and 35 years of a f ,;e, the objects outlined being to provide an opportunity for young men to take afi active interest in all commercial, industrial and civic problems, party political questions being excluded. The business of the division will be controlled by a board of 12 members, which is to elect its own chairman and vice-chairman. The following were elected to the board:—Messrs. J. Beachem. A. G. Brown. H. M. Doull, E. J. Hewitt. D. A. V. Hudson, H. Innes, N. G. Laird, H. Lichtenst cin, G. Orrell, H. J. Somervell, 11. Sinclair and E. L. Thomson.

Mr. Eady gave an address cn the activities of junior chambers in other countries particularly in the United States. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. Eady, Mr. Harvey Turner and Mr. F. C. Brooksbank, of tho senior chamber, who acted as a committee to aid the formation of the division.
