CHARITABLE RELIEF.

FOOD SUPPLY CRITICISED. GREATER VARIETY URGED. "V Certain aspects of the Hospital Board's relief administration were criticised by a deputation of four women, representing the .Auckland Women's One Big Union, which waited on the board at its meeting yesterday. Mrs. A. M. Cassie, who headed the deputation, said she had been asked to bring under the board's notice the quality of the food supplied to the recipients of relief. The butter was of very poor quality, while the recipients considered there was a sameness in the foodstuffs provided, starchy foods predominating too much. Many mothers thought their children had suffered as a result of the food supplied. Another speaker considered that more nourishing food should be supplied for children and suggested that fish should be provided, while a third asked for greater help for widows. The chairman, Mr. \V. Wallace, said the representations would be considered.
