REFUSAL TO WED PAIR. PARENTS CHASE RUNAWAYS. LONDON. March 13. Mr. C. Haribury, Conservative member of the House of Commons for Northern Dorset, and his wife, chartered an aeroplane at Croydon yesterday and flew in pursuit of their son, who had gone to Gretna Greeji to marry Miss Joan Eve, granddaughter of Mr. Justice Eve. Tho aerop'fiue landed at Blackpool owing to the darkness, and tho parents went by (ran to Gretna Green, where they learned that the famous blacksmith had refused lo marry tho couple as 'hey had not resided for the requisite three weeks in Seo'land.
Mr. and Mrs. ITanbury then went, to Glasgow, arriving by the same train as the young «ouple, whom they brought with them hick to London this evening. When they arrived at the station they were besiege] by reporters and press photographer >. Mrs. Hani ury litter explained that the parents of both "youngsters" objected to the engagement, only because of their youth, the -son being and the girl not yet 17. They have been friends since their childhood.
The engagement would bo announced when the excitement of " this youthful escapade " had subsided, said Mrs. Hanbury.
