WOMEN'S DIVISION.

FARMERS' UNION. The annual meeting of the Opotiki branch of tho women's division was held recently, there being a very large attendance presided over by Mrs. A. E. Martin. It was de.cided to hold tho annual picnic on tho Waiotahi beach. Miss E. Lowe gave an interesting demonstration of stencilling. A prize for tho member who had attended the most meetings in the year was won by Mrs. Jennings, who had attended them all. The election of officers resulted as follows; —President, Mrs. A. E. Martin; honorary secretary, Mrs. b. Maxwell; honorary treasurer, Mrs. Barbour; vicepresidents, Mrs. C. Holland and Mrs. P. Jennings; committee, Mesdames W. Lowe, E. Young, W. L. Looney, H. Applet on, E. Maxwell, C. Buttcrworth, Murray, Megaw and Gray. Six new members were enrolled. TANEATUA. Mrs. Grace presided at the last monthly meeting of tho Taneatua branch of the division. After the ordinary business had been dealt with a letter was read fioni the Dominion president re the amalgamation of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union and the Women s Institutes. The forming of a junior branch of tho division was also discussed. Mrs. \\ . Thorn won the competition for the six host piklets, for which Mrs. Habgood acted as judge. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Lynch and Miss Foster.
