AUCKLAND PRIMARY SCHOOLS ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS HELD. r 1 FOURTEEN RECORDS BROKEN. The third annual championship carnival of the Auckland Primary Schools' Amateur Swimming and Life-Saving Association was commenced at the Tepid Baths yesterday, heats and semi-finals being decided. As there were, 1293 entrants competing in no fewer than IS7 events, a heavy task fell upon the officials, who, however, saw that the various events were run off right to time. As 'many a3 13 heats were necessary in some events before the semi-final stages were reached and even then there wore hosts in the semi-finals. Tho finals will be decided at the Tepid Baths this evening, commencing at 7.30. Highly creditable performances were put up by a number of competitors, of whom the following broke "existing records for the meeting:—A.
