THE ATHLETIC MEETING.
Sir,—"-New Zealand may well be proud of its athletes, both nialo and female, as seen in tlio Domain on Saturday last. Never before lias Auckland had such a show as Iho spectators in the Domain had on Saturday, and never was a programme better carried out; it reflects the greatest credit on all the executive. In the old days all the beauty and fashion used to turn out in crowds to witness tho spOrts in tho Domain, in fact, as far as dresses and fashion went, it was the Ascot of Auckland. Why not now? The secretary was a "tower" of strength, and ho must feel proud of his work. There was no hitch from first to last, and every finish was worth walking a milo to seo. Surely this Is show ought to attract 20,000 of the Auckland public. It is better than the tin hare. Francis Hull.
