In the second column is given the return, based on the last annual dividend, from investment at the quoted price. In tho case of Government and other redeemable securities (lie return includes redemption. In calculating tho returns on shares in companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand exchange rates, being liablo to fluctuation, have not been taken into consideration. There is a possibility that, the third Auckland wool sale, which is scheduled to commence at the Town Hall next Monday, will start- at four o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The buyers were at Napier yesterday preparing for the sale there to-morrow, and after the Auckland fixture they have to go to Christchurch. The intervention of Easter between --the Auckland and Christchurch sales has led to the suggestion of an earlier start at Auckland. Mr. E. M. Edgar, secretary of the Auckland Woolbrokers' Association, was in communication with the buyers at Napier yesterday, and ho expects" to receive definite advice this morning concerning the advancing of the selling hour. There are between 20,000 and 21,000 bales to be offered.
COMPETITION AT SYDNEY. GOOD LINES AT LATE RATES. (Received March 14, 10.45 p.m.) SYDNEY. March 14. At the Sydney wool sales to-day the market for good fleoco lines and skirtings was on a par with last week, but demand for burry and dusty sorts was irregular. There was good general competition. Greasy Merino sold to 18d. The offerings totalled 10,823 hales, of which 9389 were sold. Also 532 bales wero disposed of privately. DOLLAR EXCHANGE. DOMINION RATES REVISED. COMPARISON OF QUOTATIONS.
