THE ROYAL NAVY.

NEW ZEALAND DIVISION. PROPOSED BRITISH CONTROL. (Received March 13. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 12. Commenting upon a cabled suggestion that Britain should resume control of the New Zealand division of the Royal Navy and return the subsidy, the Morning Post's naval writer says it will be interesting to see whether the proposal has any influence on Australia's naval policy. There is no doubt, says the writer, that a large body of opinion, both in the Royal Navy and the Royal Australian Navy, regards separate fleets as a source of weakness instead of strength, besides being a source of additional expense for maintenance.
