CONDITIONS IN IRELAND.

SUDDENNESS OF CHANGE. REPUBLICANISM RAMPANT. ANXIETY AS TO THE FUTURE. By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright. (Received March 13. 5.5 p.m.) Times Cable. LONDON. March 12. A message from Dublin says a. day of excitement followed the release of the 20 political prisoners. Platoons of the Irish Republican Army, which the late Government. had declared to lie an illegal body, paraded the streets of the city without interference. The newspaper (he Republic appeared in its old form. Tho sudden change in the conditions in the country is keenly resented by tho supporters of Mr. \V. T. Gosgravc, the exPresident of the Dail. The Dublin correspondent of the Times says 11 io new President, Mr. do Vnlera, faces a problem which is likely to assume ugly proportions. The members of the Sinn Fein and other extremists do not care whether the oath of allegiance is removed. They resolutely refuse to recognise the British connection in any shape or form. Mr. de Valcra will not placate the Republican left wing movement by any constitutional juggling. These men will be as great a menace to tho new Government as they were to Mr. Cosgravo, says the correspondent. In fact, already they describe the now Government as " Jfis Majesty's Ministers."
