NEW GENERAL-SECRETARY. MR. EBENEZER EDWARDS. (Received March 13. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. March 12. .Mr. Ebenezer Edwards, formerly a member of the House of Commons, succeeds the late Mr. A. J- Cook as general secretary of the Miners' Federation.

Mr Ebenezer Edwards was the financial secretary of the Northumberland Miners' Association and has been its representative on the Miners' I'ederat.o,n Ho twice unsuccessfully contested Wansbeck division in JO 18 and was elected for Morpeth in 1929. He was defeated at the last general election.
