GOLDEN WEDDING.
MR. AND MRS. T. N. PEEK. Two well known residents of Dovonport, Mr. and Mrs. T. N. Peek, will to-day celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding. Tlioy wero married in St. Andrew's Church, Cambridge, on March 14, 1882, by the late Archdeacon Willis. Mr. IVek, who was horn in London, arrived at Auckland with his parents in the ship Excelsior on March 17, 1859. With his family ho settled in Otahuhu and was there during Iho Maori War, in which his father took part as a member of the Otahuhu Volunteer Cavalry under tho lato Colonel Nixon. After residing in Cambridgo for several years, Mr. Peek returned to Auckland and entered commercial life, retiring from active business in 1925. On his retirement ho was elected a lifo member of tho Auckland Commercial Travellers fliul Warehousemen's Association, and in 1927 he was appointed a justice of "f ho peace. Jle is an active playing-member of the Devonport, Bowling Club. Mrs. I'eek, who was born at Ararat, Victoria, was the second daughter of tho late Mr. and Mrs. John Robertson, and caino to New Zealand in tho early sixties, landing at Duncdin. Both Mr. and Mrs. Peek have experienced all tho vicissitudes of early pioneer life. They have three sons and ono daughter. Tho eldest son, Mr. B. L. Peek, of tho Railway Department, was recently appointed stalionmastcr at Auckland. There are 13 grandchildren.
