At a discussion which took p'.aco later upon gambling, Mrs. Hugh Kasper, president of the. Auckland district, spoke strongly in disfavour of art unions and raffles being conducted among children. Mrs. T. E. Taylor urged the necessity for individual members and local unions to takf an unswerving stand against gambling in any shape or form. Mrs. Fred Daldy, representing Kohimarama, drew the attention of the convention to tho fact that New Zealand is spending C 15.000.000 per annum on drink and gambling.
