SUMMER TIME ENDING.
LAST WEEK COMMENCED.
CHANGE NEXT SUNDAY.
Only another six days remain of the
summer time period, which commenced this season on October 11, 1931. At 2 a.m. next Sunday the return to standard time will be made, and all clocks will require to bo put back half an hour. As in the past, the invariable practice will be for domestic clocks be retarded on Saturday night, before people retire to bed, but the majority of public clocks will not be altered until the correct hour.
A wish expressed by & section of the community that summer time be extended this year until after Easter has been fruitless. At this period of the year tiis putting back of the clocks will make tha shortening of the days seem very marked.
